Jester AcidRip is a Gtk2::Perl application for ripping and encoding DVD's. It neatly wraps MPlayer and MEncoder, which I think is pretty handy, seeing as MPlayer is by far the best bit of video playing kit around for Linux. As well as creating a simple Graphical Interface for those scared of getting down and dirty with MEncoders command line interface
dude Acidrip is cool, but dvd::rip is faster, but it's interface is a lot more complex, and gives less control. For example, where's the bl00dy resize? ya know, 640x480 to 320x240 for my zen? Acidrip rocks, but they are both very good. Albeit very slow.
notherDude OF cause you can resize with dvd::rip. Take a look at the "clip & zoom" tab. It's a little komplex, but in fact much more powerful than AcidRip.
